Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Independence at Home is seeking a Homemaker Caregiver to support elderly and disabled clients in their homes. You will assist with personal care, meals, light housekeeping, and transportation as needed, helping clients maintain independence and dignity.

The role requires a driver’s license, access to a car, and compassionate, reliable service. You’ll document care, communicate changes to the nurse or supervisor, and participate in ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Hourly caregivers must have a driver's license and car with auto insurance.
• One year of previous personal care experience at a facility or agency.
• Two years of continuous work experience.
• New Grad CNA's are welcome.
• Caregivers must be comfortable driving within 30 minutes of where they live for cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming care to clients.
• Assist with toileting and ambulation.
• Provide meals for clients' nutritional needs.
• Report changes in clients' condition to nurse, supervisor, or client care coordinator.
• Perform routine housekeeping and home management duties.
• Record each client's care on care plan and submit care plan in a timely manner.
• Assist with providing emotional support for the clients and their families.
• Assist with routine therapy exercises.
• Participate in case conferences as requested.
• Attend all required in-service education sessions.
• Has the ability to use computer software program and smart phone for required education.
• Represent the company in a positive and professional manner through a high level of customer service.
• Can think critically without direct supervision and the ability to expand when appropriate.

Shift Detail: Hourly cases range anywhere from 4- 12 hours at any time in the day, evening or night. Shifts will take place within 30 minutes of where you reside.
