Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Independence at Home is seeking hourly Homemaker Caregivers to support elderly and disabled clients in their homes across Connecticut. The role focuses on personal care, meals, household tasks, and coordinating with nursing staff to ensure dignified, independent living.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license with auto insurance, and CNAs are welcomed even as new grads. Expect driving within 30 minutes of residence and documenting client progress in care plans.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Location Detail: 1290 Silas Deane Hwy Wethrsfld (10181). Shift Detail: Hourly cases range anywhere from 4-12 hours at any time in the day, evening or night. Shifts will take place within 30 minutes of where you reside. Work where every moment matters.

The Homemaker Caregiver Position Provides

• Personal hygiene and grooming care to clients
• Assistance with toileting, ambulation, etc.
• Providing meals for clients' nutritional needs
• Reporting changes in clients' condition to nurse, supervisor, or client care coordinator
• Performing routine housekeeping and home management duties
• Recording each client's care on care plan and submitting care plan in a timely manner
• Assisting with providing emotional support for the clients and their families
• Assisting with routine therapy exercises
• Participating in case conferences as requested
• Attends all required in-service education sessions
• Has the ability to use computer software program and smart phone for required education
• Represents the company in a positive and professional manner through a high level of customer service
• Can think critically without direct supervision and the ability to escalate when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Hourly Caregivers must have a driver's license and car with auto insurance
• One year of previous personal care experience at a facility or agency
• Two years of continuous work experience
• New Grad CNA's are welcome
• Caregivers must be comfortable driving within 30 minutes of where they live for cases.
