Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Connecticut is seeking a Homemaker Caregiver to support elderly and disabled clients in their homes. The role includes personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and reporting changes to the nurse or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Hourly Caregivers must have a driver's license and car with auto insurance.
• One year of previous personal care experience at a facility or agency.
• Two years of continuous work experience.
• New Grad CNA's are welcome.
• Caregivers must be comfortable driving within 30 minutes of where they live for cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming care to clients.
• Assist with toileting, ambulation, and meals.
• Report changes in clients' condition to nurse or supervisor.
• Perform routine housekeeping and home management duties.
• Record each client's care on care plan and submit promptly.
• Provide emotional support to clients and families.
• Assist with routine therapy exercises.
• Participate in case conferences as requested.
• Attend required in-service education sessions.
• Use computer software and smartphone for education.
• Represent the company with high-level customer service and professionalism.
• Think critically with minimal supervision and adapt when needed.

Shift Detail: Hourly cases range anywhere from 4- 12 hours at any time in the day, evening or night. Shifts will take place within 30 minutes of where you reside.

The Homemaker Caregiver Position Provides

• Personal hygiene and grooming care to clients

• Reporting changes in clients' condition to nurse, supervisor, or client care coordinator
• Performing routine housekeeping and home management duties
• Recording each client's care on care plan and submitting care plan in a timely manner
• Assisting with providing emotional support for the clients and their families
• Assisting with routine therapy exercises
• Participating in case conferences as requested
• Attends all required in-service education sessions
• Has the ability to use computer software program and smart phone for required education
• Represents the company in a positive and professional manner through a high level of customer service
• Can think critically without direct supervision and the ability to expand when appropriate.
