Job summary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Provide clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia or related behaviors (i.e., wandering, paranoia) a safe and secure environment by monitoring their health and safety.
• Assist clients with all ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) in accordance with individualized care plans (personal hygiene assistance—oral care, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Light housekeeping, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean‑living environment.
• Meal preparation and assist with feeding if needed.
• Transferring & ambulation—provide safety, stability and support while client is mobile and during transfers.
• Transportation (appointments, grocery shopping, errands, outings, etc.).
• Follow clients’ plan of care, safety precautions and procedures.
• Monitor, observe and report suspected concerns or change of clients’ condition or health status to a supervisor or the appropriate parties immediately.
• Communicate effectively and respond to all forms of communication from the office in a timely manner.

REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

• MUST have at least 3 months of professional experience working as a caregiver.
• MUST be, or willing to register as a California Home Care Aide (HCA).
• MUST be able to clear a criminal background check by the DOJ/FBI.
• MUST have a current Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test (or willingness to complete one).
• MUST obtain a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.

• MUST be reliable, dependable, and on‑time.
• MUST dress professionally.

• MUST have a passion and the desire to help others improve their quality of life, while maintaining clients' self‑respect, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
• MUST be comfortable using a smartphone for basic communication and care documentation.
