JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Provide clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia or related behaviors (i.e., wandering, paranoia) a safe and secure environment by monitoring their health and safety.
- Assist clients with all ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) in accordance with individualized care plans (personal hygiene assistance—oral care, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, bathing, dressing, etc.).
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean‑living environment.
- Meal preparation and assist with feeding if needed.
- Transferring & ambulation—provide safety, stability and support while client is mobile and during transfers.
- Transportation (appointments, grocery shopping, errands, outings, etc.).
- Follow clients’ plan of care, safety precautions and procedures.
- Monitor, observe and report suspected concerns or change of clients’ condition or health status to a supervisor or the appropriate parties immediately.
- Communicate effectively and respond to all forms of communication from the office in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
- MUST have at least 3 months of professional experience working as a caregiver.
- MUST be, or willing to register as a California Home Care Aide (HCA).
- MUST be able to clear a criminal background check by the DOJ/FBI.
- MUST have a current Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test (or willingness to complete one).
- MUST obtain a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.
- MUST be 18 years of age or older.
- MUST be able to provide 2 forms of ID such as a Driver's license, social security, passport, and or birth certificate.
SKILLS NEEDED:
- MUST be reliable, dependable, and on‑time.
- MUST dress professionally.
- MUST be kind, empathetic, compassionate, respectful, have a positive attitude and great work ethic.
- MUST have a passion and the desire to help others improve their quality of life, while maintaining clients' self‑respect, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
- MUST be comfortable using a smartphone for basic communication and care documentation.
