Job summary

HomeWell Care Services, Inc. is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our team in Gary, IN. You will work one-on-one with seniors in their homes, providing non-medical care to enhance quality of life and help them age in place with empathy and integrity.

We offer a fast-track hiring process, flexible schedules, paid mileage between shifts, and opportunities for advancement. Prior caregiving experience with dementia/Alzheimer's care is a plus, and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Providing social companionship and engaging with clients to prevent isolation.
• Ability to follow care plans and support daily living activities.
• Strong communication with clients, families, and supervisors.
• Reliable and punctual in completing assigned shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide social companionship and engage with clients one-on-one.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, light housekeeping, and meal prep.
• Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and social events.
• Offer standby assistance with transfers and ensure overnight safety when needed.

Responsibilities

With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Social companionship
• Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation and other care as needed
• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings
• Standby assistance with transfers
• Overnight safety assistance

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test (as required by the State of Indiana)
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
• A compassionate heart for older adults
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable
