Job summary

The Career Case Manager at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission will manage the Career Pathway and Education Programs for guests, building partnerships with local industries, NGOs, colleges, and labor unions to equip residents for careers beyond the program. Scheduled: M-F 7:30AM-4:00PM, target starting pay $27.42 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; related fields preferred.
• 2 – 4 years of adult education or job training experience required.
• 2+ years of high impact volunteer management experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in social services or non-profit sector highly preferred.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License with requirements including clean driving record and at least one year licensed.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ skills and assist with goal setting and individualized program plans.
• Test and evaluate student’s performance.
• Oversee Career Development and Exploring God’s Calling classes, and the program internship.
• Motivate students to perform to the best of their abilities, discover strengths, and envision a future of meaningful work.
• Assist students in becoming job-ready and securing job placements.
• Network with businesses and organizations to find internship and job placement opportunities.
• Assist with the job search process, resume writing and interviewing skills.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to tutor and mentor students.
• Hold students accountable to meeting goals, leading to self-evaluations when needed.
• Participate in organizational meetings, training, and initiatives as required.
• Perform other duties to support the Mission’s success.
