Job summary

Goodwill Central Oklahoma is seeking an Employment Specialist I to help job seekers identify interests, remove barriers, and create employment plans. You will work 1:1 with clients in the Employment Services Center and GCPI graduates to connect with Goodwill employer partners and support ongoing employment success.

The role emphasizes resume and interview coaching, community resources, and data tracking, with opportunities for professional growth through the RISE program.

Qualifications

• Some college work and/or Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse populations with barriers to employment.
• Experience in job development for individuals with multiple barriers to employment preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to navigate the internet with ease.
• Must have driver’s license, valid insurance, and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with job searches.
• Teach basic computer navigation skills to clients.
• Help job seekers complete resumes, cover letters, and apply for jobs.
• Complete assessments, individual employment plans, and conduct interviews to determine employability.
• Serve as the employment resource to GCPI program graduates and ESC clients.
• Align resources to support job seekers with job interviews.
• Ensure proper documentation for employment (IDs, licenses).
• Advocate for job seekers with employers.
• Maintain records and data; report to supervisor weekly and monthly.
• Attend meetings and career fairs on Goodwill’s behalf.
