Job summary

Lone Star College seeks an Advisor II for Workforce Adult Education and Learning (AEL) Grant to advise and track student progress across multiple campuses. The role involves degree planning, course selection, enrollment, and compliance with grant rules, with travel to partner sites as needed.

Responsibilities include advising on certificate programs, GED/ESL, and transferring AAS to bachelor’s degrees, plus resume and job-search support. Strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Oversee advising caseloads and liaise for AEL program operations.
• Meet with students to track academic progress and success.
• Enter and maintain data, enrollment forms, and records.
• Ensure compliance with local/state/federal grant requirements.
• Advise on course selection for grant-funded programs.
• Provide job-search referrals and resume/cover-letter guidance.
• Track progress toward graduation and assist with enrollment.
