Job summary

Lone Star College-University Center in The Woodlands seeks an Advisor II for Workforce Adult Education and Learning (AEL) Grant to advise and track students’ academic progress, guide degree planning, course selection, enrollment, and schedule building across campuses.

This is a temporary, grant-funded position with continuation dependent on grant funding. Travel between LS college campuses and partner locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily and some long-term advising caseloads for AEL program operations.
• Meets with a high volume of prospective, new, and continuing students to track progress.
• Enters, tracks and maintains data, including documents, enrollment forms, testing score sheets, spreadsheets and databases.
• Advises students on proper course selection for grant-funded non-credit certificate programs.
• Provides coaching and advising to students on skills to develop a clear and attainable education plan and ITET plan.
