Columbus Technical College is seeking a full-time Career Counselor & Retention Specialist. The role advises students on career paths, assists with resume writing, mock interviews, and job fairs, and coordinates focused academic advising to help students persist in their programs.

The position requires collaboration with academic affairs, student services, and community partners to implement innovative retention programs and support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related work experience in student advisement, career counseling, or community counseling services.

Responsabilités

• Guides students in identifying potential career choices.
• Coordinate and conduct focused academic advising and student support services to help students persist in their program of study.
• Assists students with resume writing, mock interviews, and job fairs.
• Maintains up-to-date employer contact file and posts job opportunities in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with college departments and community agencies to facilitate advisement and retention initiatives.
