Job summary

Columbia State Community College in Columbia, TN, is seeking a College Success Advisor & Retention Technology Specialist to lead technology integration for advising, manage data collection and reporting, and directly engage students on campus.

The role requires coordinating with IT, LMS, and CRM teams to optimize case management and student success software while supervising student workers and maintaining labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in technology management or educational technology.
• Experience with advising technology platforms (e.g., Slate, Navigate, Degree Works, or similar systems).
• Academic advising and/or student success experience involving technology management.
• Experience in student services or a postsecondary educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise a caseload of students, including at‑risk students, with academic planning and intervention for timely degree completion.
• Collaborate to develop strategies for advising and student success technologies and data reporting.
• Monitor Charger Center labs to ensure hardware/software functionality.
• Develop technology integration and data analysis for COL 101 course in collaboration with LMS manager.
• Train FYE staff and college-wide users on advising and student success technology platforms.
• Coordinate with Enrollment Services and IT to resolve technology issues efficiently.
• Collect and interpret advising/retention data to create dashboards and reports.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate student workers in the advising department.
• Assist with appointment scheduling, walk-in management, and general operations.
• Lead process improvement for advising efficiency and data accuracy.
