Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a Career and Student Experience Specialist to enhance experiential learning for students. You’ll coordinate internships and educational travel, and provide career development support aimed at high-level internships, employment, and graduate study.

You will build relationships with employers, alumni, and external partners, collaborating with faculty and university offices to align activities with college priorities and program improvement while tracking

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience working with high school or college students in an educational support, counseling, social work, achievement, advising, mentoring or related role.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field may substitute for experience.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders is valued.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate state, national, and international experiential learning opportunities, including internships and educational travel.
  • Provide career and professional development support for students’ internships, employment, graduate study and practice.
  • Develop relationships with employers, alumni, and external partners to expand opportunities.

The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a vibrant community of artists, scholars, and educators committed to excellence in creative expression, academic inquiry, and public engagement. As the Career and Student Experience Specialist, you will:

  • Coordinate state, national, and international experiential learning opportunities, including internships, professional experiences, educational travel, and other career-connected activities.
  • Provide career and professional development support that prepares students for high level internships, employment, graduate study, and professional practice.
  • Develop relationships with employers, alumni, professional organizations, and other external partners to expand career and experiential opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate with faculty, UNL Global Affairs and other University offices, as well as College partners to coordinate experiential activities and connect students and faculty with appropriate resources.
  • Track and communicate career and experiential learning activities and outcomes to support College priorities and program improvement.

  • Experience building relationships with employers, alumni, community organizations, or other external partners.
  • Experience working in higher education.
