Essential Duties
- Responsible for completing the daily shift report and communicating any urgent needs to the next shift.
- Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures and as instructed by supervisors.
- Assist with resident care, including housekeeping, laundry, and social needs, while demonstrating proper lifting techniques.
- Assist with serving meals and essential clean‑up.
- Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
- Report all changes in a resident’s condition to the DON/Charge Nurse/HWD as soon as practical.
- Agree not to disclose a resident’s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations to the Administrator.
- Maintain current certification and participate in continuing education, including staff meetings, in‑service, and web‑based training.
Education & Experience
- High school education or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant from the state.
- Licensed Certified Nurse Assistant having successfully completed a state‑approved training program and any required examinations.
- Prefer prior experience in assisted living (AL) or skilled nursing unit (SNU), or at least one year as a certified nurse aide.
Specific Requirements
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Must handle personnel, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies with tact.
- Must possess patience, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Must provide documentation of certification upon application.
