Job summary

Renwick-Nursing-and-Rehab is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to ensure resident comfort and safety by performing repairs, scheduling contractors, monitoring facility systems, and conducting routine maintenance. The role requires carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
• Understanding of building and fire safety regulations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy exertion, including standing, reaching, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Ability to lift between 50 and 100 lbs and be available for after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders assigned by the Maintenance Director, including bulb changes, filter replacements, painting, plumbing, light carpentry, sheetrock repairs and other duties.
• Assist with maintenance of facilities areas such as grounds, fences, parking areas, furniture, appliances, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain and repair service equipment, power tools, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep preventative maintenance records and use a work-order tracking system.
• Conduct daily inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment.
• Identify and resolve safety hazards to protect residents, visitors, and staff.
