Job summary

Extended Care, LLC is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Assistant to ensure residents receive a high standard of care by performing repairs, scheduling contractors, monitoring facility systems, and conducting routine maintenance.

You will join a dedicated team at our affiliated facility, contributing to resident comfort and safety through reliable upkeep, preventative maintenance, and timely response to work orders and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
• Understanding of building and fire safety regulations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy exertion, including lifting between 50 and 100 lbs.
• Available for after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders assigned by Maintenance Director, including changing light bulbs, AC filters, painting, plumbing, light carpentry, fixing sheetrock, and other maintenance duties.
• Assist with maintenance of facility areas, including grounds, fences, parking areas, furniture, appliances, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain and repair service equipment, power tools, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep preventative maintenance records and utilize a work order tracking system.
• Conduct daily inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment.
• Identify and resolve potential safety hazards to protect residents, visitors, and staff.
