Job summary

Chateau-Nursing-and-Reha is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at our Extended Care facility. You will perform repairs, schedule contractors, monitor facility systems, and conduct routine maintenance to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance experience, with strong English communication and the ability to work after hours when needed. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and general building maintenance.
• Understanding of building and fire safety regulations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy exertion, including lifting 50–100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders assigned by the Maintenance Director, including changing light bulbs, AC filters, painting, plumbing, light carpentry, fixing sheetrock, and other maintenance duties.
• Assist with maintenance of facility areas, including grounds, fences, parking areas, furniture, appliances, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain and repair service equipment, power tools, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep preventative maintenance records and utilize a work order tracking system.
• Conduct daily inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment.
• Identify and resolve potential safety hazards to protect residents, visitors, and staff.
