Job summary

Marin City Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Referral Coordinator to act as the liaison for patients and clinicians, coordinating care with other offices, hospitals, and programs.

The role emphasizes processing authorizations/referrals, verifying insurance, and maintaining referral data while supporting a diverse patient population with strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in administrative work in a health care setting.
• Experience with insurance, referrals, authorizations, and community contacts highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience providing strong customer service.
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
• Sensitivity to the needs and situation of multi-cultural population from a variety of income levels.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process all authorizations and referrals ordered by providers and requested by patients.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility.
• Maintain authorizations/referrals in patient charts via tracking system.
• Maintain an extensive resource directory for staff and patients.
• Understand managed care requirements for referrals.
• Provide superior customer service to patients, including problem resolution.
• Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as directed.
