Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a Referral and Authorizations Coordinator to process referrals and obtain prior authorizations for patients to see specialty providers. You will work closely with providers, clinic leaders, and the Patient Access Department to ensure accurate and timely referrals and authorizations.

The role supports coordination with payers, conducts patient communications, and maintains HIPAA-compliant records. Prior experience with EHRs and insurance workflows is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years in healthcare settings with insurance prior authorizations/referrals.
• Experience with EHR systems and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals and obtain necessary authorizations per program.
• Collaborate with physician offices to ensure timely scheduling and accuracy.
• Maintain relationships with payer representatives and health plans.
• Communicate with patients via secure messaging, phone, or written correspondence.
• Support registration, insurance verification, and related workflow tasks.
