Job summary

LifeLong Medical Care is seeking a Central Referrals Coordinator at our Berkeley administrative offices. This full-time role (40 hrs/wk) handles specialty referrals, follow-up, data entry, and tracking within Epic and i2i.

Excellent organizational skills and teamwork are essential to support underserved populations. The position offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 403(b) retirement plan, with compensation at $22/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of administrative experience in a medical or human services setting preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to type 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Receives referral requests from providers and communicates with providers to clarify details.
• Requests urgent appointments as needed.
• Verifies insurance information.
• Contacts health plans and funding sources to obtain authorizations for reimbursement of services.
• Follows up on referrals and maintains accurate tracking in Epic and i2i.
• Coordinates with Health Information Technician to ensure medical reports are placed in the chart.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
