You will handle administrative tasks, track concurrent reviews, obtain authorizations, and assist with post-acute service arrangements. The role requires high school diploma, healthcare setting experience, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Minimum one year of Administrative Assistant or higher experience.
• Previous experience in a health care or health insurance setting.
• Significant computer/data gathering and processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and administrative support to the Case Management team to facilitate care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization review.
• Track dates that concurrent reviews are due to third party payors and obtain updated clinical information from EMR/Chart or forms and fax to payors.
• Obtain authorizations and document in HMS financial system; assist with Medicare Important Message after training.
• Assist with initial post-discharge referrals and follow up calls to providers regarding referrals and acceptance.
• Arrange post-acute care services and post-discharge transportation and physician appointments as needed.
