Job summary

Health Care for the Homeless in Baltimore seeks a Client Service Specialist to support medical, behavioral health, and dental teams across locations. You will provide compassionate, culturally competent service and help with registrations, scheduling, insurance verification, and referrals.

You will mentor CSRs, ensure patient-centered access, and uphold HIPAA/ADA requirements while collaborating with a multidisciplinary staff to improve overall clinic experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CSR experience in an FQHC or ambulatory care setting.
• 2+ years in health or human services; BA in related field may substitute for experience.
• 2+ years of customer services experience.
• Understanding of ambulatory practice management and operations.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/ADA requirements and third-party insurance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Handle CSR duties: registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and medical records.
• Process referrals from providers at discharge, obtain authorizations if needed, and fax documents to referring entity; follow up on outstanding issues.
• Maintain release of information & scan/ manage medical records workflow with accuracy.
• Collaborate with Practice Manager to document customer service actions and identify satisfaction improvements.
• Respond promptly to client questions/concerns; connect clients with case management and CHW services as needed.
• Support data collection for clinic flow, expenditures, and service delivery analysis.
