Job summary

The Dell Medical School, in collaboration with Ascension Texas, seeks Advanced Practice Nurses or Physician Assistants to join the Institute for Cardiovascular Health. The role balances clinic and telemetry floor duties, delivering patient-centered cardiovascular and thoracic care in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualified candidates include PAs with NCCPA certs and Texas license, or APNs with prescriptive authority and AANPCB/ANCC certification and Texas Nursing licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited training program and board certified by the respective accreditation body.
• Physician Assistant with board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed through the Texas Medical Board
• Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority and board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed through the Texas Board of Nursing
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs health assessments, screening, and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
• Participates in orientation and education of staff and students.
• Other related functions as assigned
