Job summary

Sutter West Bay Medical Group is seeking a full-time Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our expanding program in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role offers collaboration with a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team, both inpatient and outpatient care, and a focus on excellence and innovation in vascular and thoracic surgery.

The ideal candidate will be board certified or eligible in Thoracic Surgery, with CA licensure eligibility and a commitment to patient-centered care in a growing regional

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of CT Surgery residency/fellowship or current enrollment with anticipated completion.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery; CA licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, elective and urgent.
• Evaluate and manage patients with CAD, valvular, aortic disease, and thoracic conditions.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists and intensivists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality initiatives.
• Provide preoperative consultation, perioperative management, and postoperative follow-up.
• Support development and growth of cardiovascular and thoracic services regionally.
• Maintain timely documentation within Epic EMR.
• Participate in call coverage and emergent surgical care as part of a team.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
