Job summary

Sutter West Bay Medical Group in San Francisco, CA seeks a full-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a growing program. The surgeon will perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship; or current CT surgery fellowship with anticipated completion before start date.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery; current board certification preferred.
• Eligible for unrestricted California medical licensure; current DEA registration.
• Expertise in adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, including coronary, valvular, and aortic procedures; lung resection and general thoracic work.
• New graduates and fellows encouraged to apply; collaborative, patient-centered care.
• Strong commitment to quality and safety; excellent communication skills; Epic or comparable EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including elective and urgent cases.
• Evaluate/manage patients with CAD, valvular disease, aortic disease, and thoracic conditions.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists, and intensivists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and quality initiatives; perioperative management and follow-up.
• Support regional program growth and develop cardiovascular services; ensure timely Epic documentation.
• Contribute to call coverage and emergent surgical care; drive quality improvement initiatives.
