Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a dedicated unit support coordinator to facilitate smooth patient flow and act as liaison between patients, families, visitors and clinical staff.

You will partner with nurses to coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, and patient registrations, while delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring timely information exchange in a fast-paced health care environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; an associate’s degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.
• Healthcare admin experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow through the unit and coordinates admissions with staff.
• Answers patient call lights promptly and greets patients, families, and staff.
• Utilizes information systems for bed tracking and order entry; resolves IS issues.
• Maintains equipment logs and assists with equipment maintenance.
• Manages patient valuables program and tracks losses.
