Qualifications

• Applicants should have high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of directly related experience may be substituted for the required education.
• Prior scheduling experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
• Medical terminology, billing, and/or collection experience preferred.
• Computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient testing, procedures and admissions, ensuring availability of staff.
• Obtains pre-certification numbers and enters in scheduling/registration system.
• Obtains and enters accurate insurance information and communicates with patient/office staff.
• Answers incoming phone calls and coordinates scheduling details.
• Maintains knowledge of scheduling reports for the next day to inform admissions staff.
• Ensures consistency between scheduling and admissions modules for admitted patients.
