Job summary

SSM Health in St. Charles, MO, is seeking a patient scheduling coordinator for the Cardiology clinic. The role focuses on obtaining demographic, insurance, and clinical information, and scheduling procedures with efficient use of patient time and resources.

Primary responsibilities include coordinating insurance pre-certification, counseling patients on pre-service requirements, and handling clerical tasks related to patient registration. Regular work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• No experience required

Responsibilities

• Gathers information from patient and enters into appropriate database.
• Schedules patient procedures in a manner that most efficiently utilizes the patient's time and clinical resources.
• Coordinates and communicates schedules; assists with insurance pre-certification/authorization.
• Provides counseling to patient regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
• Performs clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
