Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year medical office or related customer service experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and regulations preferred.
• Must be able to manage conflict effectively and professionally (Required).
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines (Required).
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills (Required).

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers/registers patients with accurate demographic and financial data.
• Collects patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payments.
• Verifies coverage and ensures insurance requirements are met; obtain prior authorizations/referrals as needed.
• Responds to customer inquiries.
• Assist with departmental coverage as needed.
• Manage daily appointment schedules and reminders; call referrals.
• May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
