Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a Nurse Tech for weekend days (Friday–Sunday, 07:00–19:30) on-site in Cardiology. You will support patient transfers, meal delivery, feeding assistance, and help maintain an orderly unit while answering calls promptly.

You will train new staff, participate in daily rounds and basic clinical tasks, including glucose checks and lab specimen handling, contributing to a patient-centered team focused on compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course within 90 days or equivalent.
• CNA or PCT certification or exam registration.
• Direct patient care experience in past 3 years as a nursing assistant/EMT/surgical technician.
• Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program completed within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing/ancillary staff with patient transfers and meal tray delivery.
• Answer unit telephones promptly and relay messages accurately to patients and staff.
• Educate and train new staff members in Care Team Associate responsibilities.
• Perform routine duties including vitals, glucose checks, and sample collection as directed.
• Maintain bed-management system entries and ensure timely response to patient call lights.
