Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a Nurse Tech to support patient transfers, meal delivery, and feeding assistance on a busy Integrated Medicine unit in Columbia, MO. You’ll help train new staff and maintain an organized, patient-centered environment, including routine checks and quick response to patient needs.

Role requires involvement in daily duties, with rotating day/night shifts, weekend requirements, and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a nursing education program or have CNA/PCT certification or equivalent.
• Direct patient care experience or nursing-related training is acceptable within timeframes stated.
• Willingness to train and educate new staff as part of the Care Team Associate role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transferring patients, meal tray pickup/delivery, and patient feeding as directed.
• Organize workload, manage multiple tasks, and maintain an orderly environment.
• Educate and train new staff members; perform duties in routine and emergent situations.
• Perform patient position changes, equipment handling, hygiene care, basic clinical checks, and sample collection as requested.
• Accurately enter information into the bed-management system and respond promptly to patient needs.
