Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient flow, vital signs and room preparation in a fast-paced clinic. You will document in the EHR, verify allergies and medication lists, and assist with routine procedures.

This role requires completion of an accredited MA program, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and 0–1 year of related experience (2–4 years preferred). BLS certification or readiness within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program required.
• 0-1 year related work experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English clearly, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination room and assists physician, PA or NP with patient care.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and accurate charting in EHR.
• Obtains vital signs and documents them in the medical record.
• Schedules appointments and updates medication and allergy lists in PMS/EHR.
• Provides referrals as needed and communicates with care team promptly.
