Job summary

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital in Dearborn, MI, seeks an Ultrasonographer with expertise in cardiac ultrasound to perform comprehensive echocardiography tests and related imaging. The role includes teaching and mentoring colleagues and students in technical practice and pathology applications.

The position is full-time, daytime hours in a hospital setting with ongoing education and patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• CRT-BLS required upon hire (AHA/ARC variants acceptable)
• ARDMS certifications required for specific modalities (Cardiac RDCS or RCS)
• Cardiac, Breast, Abdomen, OB/Gyn, and Vascular sonography credentials preferred
• 1 year experience in designated modality or equivalent"

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, m-mode, TEE, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms, and LV opacification studies.
• Educate and mentor medical staff on technical performance and cardiac pathology related to ultrasound.
• May serve as mentor/preceptor for Ultrasonographers and students.

Scope to Work

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients.
• Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound.
• May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.
