Job summary

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital in Dearborn, MI is seeking a qualified Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic echocardiography and related studies. The role requires RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials and an associate degree or ultrasound program graduate.

You will mentor staff and may teach students, work day shift, 40 hours weekly, with a focus on imaging accuracy, patient care, and teamwork within a major teaching hospital.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Diagnostic Ultrasound or graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
• Required BLS certification (AHA or ARC) upon hire.
• ARDMS Cardiac (RDCS) or Cardiac Sonographer-Registered credentials required.
• Other ARDMS credentials for breast, abdomen, OB/Gyn, and vascular as specified.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, and m-mode.
• Conduct transesophageal studies and exercise/pharmacologic echocardiograms.
• Instruct medical personnel on technical performance and pathology; mentor students or staff as needed.

Scope to Work

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students. This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required.
