Job summary

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiac Ultrasound ultrasonographer to perform comprehensive echocardiography studies for adult patients in a busy teaching hospital setting in Dearborn, MI. The role emphasizes accuracy, patient safety, and clinical excellence as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates will have RDCS/ACS/RCS credentials, ARDMS certification, and BLS upon hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from Diagnostic Ultrasound program or equivalent.
• Individual should have completed or be in progress toward ARDMS/RDCS/RCS credentials as specified.
• BLS certification required upon hire; choice of AHA or ARC accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, m-mode, transesophageal, stress echocardiograms, and related studies for adult patients.
• Educate and mentor medical personnel on technical performance, clinical application and pathology related to cardiac ultrasound.
• Potentially serve as a mentor/preceptor for Ultrasonographers and/or students.

Scope to Work

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.

This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimal as gained at student level. Required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
• CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDE Cardiac 1 Year required
• CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular 1 Year required
• CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required Or
• CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required Or
• CRT-Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Cardiac 1 Year required Or
