Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-week temporary assignment in the Cardiac Telemetry department. Shifts are 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a wage of $60.00 per hour.

The role requires active RN licensure in the state and cardiology telemetry experience. Responsibilities include direct patient care, patient/family teaching, and coordination with physicians on patient status, ECG monitoring, and diagnostic results.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the Telemetry Unit scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Telemetry.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, test results and symptoms.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
