Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a Scheduling Clerk to manage appointment scheduling across multiple imaging modalities, entering accurate order data into Epic and coordinating with physicians and support staff. The role requires attention to detail and strong communication to keep patient flow efficient.

The position involves greeting patients, registering arrivals, and ensuring seamless coordination between radiology, anesthesia, and scheduling teams to minimize visits and maximize throughput.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous scheduling experience preferred.
• Medical terminology strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler.
• Checks exam orders in Epic and coordinates patient exams with physicians, nurses and technologists.
• Verifies orders, preauthorization and coordinates sedation, biopsies and imaging with relevant departments.
• Greets and directs patients and visitors; checks in and registers patients arriving in the Breast Center; ensures timely communication with departments.
