Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute/Cardiac unit on the 12-hour night shift. This role provides bedside care, administers medications, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.

Requirements include MD RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of acute care experience (cardiac preferred); BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure (MD or compact).
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience, preferably cardiac.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate.
• Competence in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications, provide patient education, monitor efficacy and side effects.
• Assess and monitor patient condition and changes; document appropriately.
• Design and evaluate nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and at discharge.
