Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse/Graduate Nurse for the Acute/Cardiac unit. The role supports bedside care for acutely ill patients and requires BSN preferred, RN licensure, and BLS certification.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, administer medications, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning. Flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits are offered to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN or MSN if not on hire must agree to obtain within a specified time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
