Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute/Cardiac unit. The role involves bedside care on a 30-bed unit with telemetry, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has an accredited nursing program background, Maryland RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year in acute cardiac care. Full-time with rotating shift and parking benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred with time-bound completion if not present on hire.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute cardiac care setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
