The 51-bed unit delivers high-acuity care across diverse specialties. Candidates should have a Maryland RN license, BLS, and strong communication and collaboration skills; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred; if BSN/MSN not present on hire, must obtain within a specified time frame.
• Current licensure by Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superior interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
