The 51-bed unit emphasizes collaboration, education, and safe medication administration, with strong focus on discharge planning and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; RN licensure.
• BSN or MSN preferred; if not on hire, employer to obtain within defined time frame.
• Current RN licensure by Maryland Board of Nursing or Compact State.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
