Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time 12-hour night shift on the Gen/Surgical Unit. The RN will provide professional nursing care according to standards of practice, with a focus on patient-centered care and safety.

The ideal candidate will hold an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred) with Maryland RN licensure and BLS. The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities within a supportive Catholic health system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain within a specific time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
