Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Post Procedural Care Unit at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. The position supports RN/LPN staff, performs essential patient care tasks, and enhances patient safety and comfort.

The role involves patient interactions, safe handling, basic nursing care, admissions/discharges, and daily documentation. Evening shifts from 3pm to 11:30pm apply to per diem availability.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, the ability to prioritize, and the ability to follow directions.
• Completion of CNA training preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and visitors, answer call lights, answer phones, assist visitors; perform hourly rounding.
• Learn safe patient handling for ambulation and transfers with RN/LPN guidance.
• Provide basic nursing care (ADLs) under supervision, assist with bathing, grooming, feeding, and bed-making.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and transfers; orient patients to room and hospital; transport as needed.
• Document patient care activities (ADLs, vitals, weight, intake/output) and notify team of changes.
• Support department tasks: restock supplies, clean equipment, answer calls, file and maintain records.
