Job summary

Banner Health Corporate is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join the Surgical PCU team at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix. You will provide routine patient care, collect data, and support nursing operations on a fast-paced unit with day shifts.

Responsibilities include patient record maintenance, basic clinical tasks under supervision, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered for licensed CNAs or LNAs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current CNA in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred; hospital/physician office experience helpful.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and participate in care planning.
• Collect patient data and document in medical records; support nursing unit operations.
• Support unit staff and communicate patient status to caregivers.
• Assist with procedures and use of equipment under supervision.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to ensure efficient department flow.
• Maintain patient records, chart forms, and supplies; assist with ordering specimens.
• Monitor equipment and assist with supplies management and turnover.
• Transport patients as needed, including pre/post-operative transfers.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with strong emphasis on customer service.

Education
