Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Tech in Palos Heights, IL. The role supports RN-led patient care, monitors vital signs, and assists with daily living activities on a 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. schedule with alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA/EMT or nursing student with clinical, and BLS certification. The position offers tuition support and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA/EMT or nursing student with clinical completed.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) must be current.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake/output.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrate flexibility and multi-tasking under stress.
• Utilize critical thinking to prioritize unit work as needs change.
• Serve as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answer calls with courteous telephone etiquette and relay information.
• Assist with unit workflow with RN/manager as needed.
• Perform pre-census and validate daily admissions and census lists.
