Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech in Palos Heights, IL. Under the supervision of an RN, you perform basic patient care activities and support nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

This full-time role requires a High School Diploma and BLS; CNA/CMA/EMT credentials or nursing student status are preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one clinical semester required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and ability to multitask under stress.
• Prioritizes unit work and communicates with other departments.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and related departments.
• Answers calls and communicates information to staff/family/patient.
• Manages overall unit workflow with charge RN/as-needed.
