NYU Langone Health in New York is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform and analyze all aspects of cardiac ultrasound testing, including M-mode, 2D, Doppler, 3D, and vascular studies.

The successful candidate will prepare equipment, ensure patient comfort, document studies, and assist the cardiologist during emergencies. ARDMS certification and accredited ultrasound program are required; an Associate's degree is preferred and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited ultrasound program.
• ARDMS registry (certification) required.

Responsabilités

• Provides for patient comfort and prepares equipment for procedures.
• Prepares equipment and supplies according to departmental procedures.
• Identifies patient and verifies identity.
• Explains procedures and maintains patient privacy.
• Demonstrates knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics.
• Performs and critiques echocardiograms and notes abnormalities for medical staff.
• Assists cardiologist during emergencies and compares with prior studies.
• Documents echocardiograms and enters pertinent data.
• Maintains and sterilizes equipment and notifies supervisor of breakdowns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
