Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a related field and completion of an accredited program in Ultrasound or equivalent.
• Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry to Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
• Must maintain active registry status.

Responsibilities

• Provides for patient comfort and prepares equipment for procedures.
• Identifies patient and verifies identity.
• Explains procedures to patient and maintains privacy.
• Maintains and sterilizes equipment for procedures.
• Documents echocardiograms and enters data.
• Notifies physician of any changes in patient condition.
• Assists cardiologist in emergencies when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
