Job summary

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio seeks an Echo Technician PRN. You will perform echocardiograms (2-D, M-mode, color Doppler, TEE as needed), carotid imaging, and tilt-table testing under the Non-Invasive Cardiology Manager.

This role requires registry eligibility for RDCS/RDMS-FE or RCS, with multiple education pathways listed. You will support image acquisition, maintain equipment, and ensure proper patient preparation.

Qualifications

• Registers cardiac sonographers and ARDMS eligibility at hire.

Responsibilities

• Acquire physician orders and obtain informed consent.
• Operate and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment.
• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms and TEEs as needed.
• Assist with carotid imaging and tilt-table testing.
• Maintain patient reports and data in Meditech.

Education

ARDMS or RCS eligibility (RDCS/RDMS-FE or RCCS/RVS)

CAAHEP accredited diagnostic medical sonography program

Bachelor’s degree with clinical ultrasound/vascular experience

Bachelor’s degree in sonography or vascular technology

Current professional registry: RCS / RDCS / RCCS / RDMS-FE

High school/GED with 2 years on-the-job ultrasound experience

Non-accredited program with 800 clinical hours in Cardiac Sonography
