Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under physician direction. This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates or those new to the field, with on-call and 10-hour shift days described.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, offices, and patients.
• Prepare for exams by identifying patients and educating them about procedures.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and care teams during exams.
• Return patient to room and monitor stability after exams.
• Mentor staff and students on equipment and techniques.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and areas.
• Coordinate repairs or supplies as needed.
• Support quality improvement initiatives.
